Beef Recipes

Beef and Bison happen to be my favorite animal proteins on most days.  Beef  is a healthy food supplying you with essential fat soluble vitamins, minerals like magnesium and zinc—you need zinc for clear thinking and a healthy sex life and immune system. Vitamin B6 is abundant in meat, especially rare meat. This is helpful for healthy hormone status. I would say that the only reason beef might not be a wise choice should you suffer from iron build up or hemachromotosis. Red meat is one of the best sources of vitamin B12, which is vital to a healthy nervous system and healthy blood. Vegetarians are especially prone to vitamin B12 deficiency. Beef is also high in Co Enzyme Q10 which is vital to heart health. Yes, Beef is part of a heart healthy diet. In fact, for the best source of CoQ10, add a little beef heart to your next stir fry! It's a fabulously delectable meat.

Misty's Tip

Always try to choose as much organic, free range product as you can. Beef and Bison are not by nature, corn and soy eating animals. I always dissuade factory farming but I also understand how cost prohibitive it can be. Do the best you can with what you have access to and enjoy my easy beef recipes.  In pricing grass fed ground beef in different markets, I'm excited to see that in many instances, it is priced equal or slightly higher than conventional.

All recipes can utilize either Beef or Bison (Buffalo) If you don't have a source, you can order on-line at Healthy Traditions

My local readers can stop by J bar S in Mendocino County. Make a day of it and take a tour of the ranch!
